Sharon Louise Barnes was born in Sacramento, California and resides in Los Angeles. Although primarily a realist painter, Barnes has also worked with collage, printmaking, and installations. She has exhibited in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Portland, and Panama; and her work also has been published in the International Review of African American Art (published by the Hampton University Museum), and El Ruisenor, Especial Edition de Artes. Barnes has studied independently and at Otis College of Art & Design. Her work often reflects her interest in world literature and philosophy.
