Sankofa’s Seeds

Five carefree children are depicted in this piece entitled ‘Sankofa’s Seeds.’ In Africa, Sankofa is a bird that flies in the air with an egg in its mouth looking backward, but yet flies forward. The bird looking back represents, giving thanks to our ancestors who have paved the way for us to have a better life. The egg represents the seeds (children) and the bird is moving ahead into the future.
